Il-Ħaġar (The Heart of Gozo) is a cultural museum in a restored building in the centre of Victoria, close to the Cittadella. It opened in 2013 and spans four floors, displaying a wide range of Gozitan heritage including religious art, historical artefacts, traditional costumes, photographs and interactive displays about Gozitan life and traditions.
The museum is run by the St Joseph Foundation and is free to enter, though donations are welcome. A highlight is the rooftop terrace, which offers panoramic views over Victoria's rooftops and the Cittadella. The museum is a good complement to the Heritage Malta museums within the Cittadella, focusing more on cultural and social history than on archaeology.
