Dwejra Tower (also known as Qawra Tower) is a 17th-century coastal watchtower built by the Knights of St John in 1652 as part of a network of towers around the Maltese islands designed to give early warning of enemy approach. The tower stands on a rocky promontory above Dwejra Bay on Gozo's west coast, overlooking the Inland Sea, the former Azure Window site and the dramatic coastline of the Dwejra heritage area.
The tower has been restored by the heritage organisation Din l-Art Ħelwa and is open to the public as a small museum, with displays on the tower's history and the coastal defence of Gozo. The roof offers some of the best views in the area — across the Inland Sea, the Dwejra coastline and the open sea. The tower is a natural focal point for a visit to the Dwejra area.
