Villa Bologna is one of Malta's finest surviving 18th-century country houses, built in 1745 by the Grand Master's legal counsel, Fabrizio Grech. The villa remains in private hands β the same family has owned it for nearly three centuries β but the gardens and parts of the house are open to the public. The formal gardens, laid out in the Italian style, feature citrus groves, fountains, statuary and mature trees, and are among the most tranquil green spaces in central Malta.
The villa also hosts seasonal events, garden tours and a small pottery workshop. It is a short walk from San Anton Palace Gardens, making the two a natural pairing for a garden-focused visit to the Attard area.
